Postgame Interviews & Color Commentary
Sitting on my couch about 3 hours before puck-drop I got a text that the usual color commentator couldn't make one of the biggest games of the year against rival Michigan Tech. I filled in for the TV broadcast and was asked if I wanted to do the postgame interviews live on air. A great learning experience that was a ton of fun.
Walk and Talk Pregame Interview
In preparation for NMU Men's Basketball's NCAA Tournament matchup, I coordinated and executed a short pregame interview with Head Coach Matt Majkrzak, asking in-depth questions about the team's journey back to the tournament and how the current season had prepared them for their game.
Alma College Facility Tour
I tour all the athletic facilities of the Alma College Football team with multiple members of their staff to create a piece of content that highlights their rich history and traditions while also showing the incredible amenities available to D3 athletes. I coordinated, produced, and edited the entire video with assistance of a second cameraman to capture the moments when I was on camera speaking.
In-Depth Feature Segment
When the NMU Hockey team had 14 players enter the transfer portal in the span of two weeks, their were a lot of questions. I coordinated with our coaching staff and athletic department to produce and shoot a raw, unfiltered interview with Coach Potulny to try and answer all the questions from the fans and community alike.
Intermission Stand Up Segments
Given little to no direction at the start, the CCHA wanted us to introduce a live presence between periods, and I stepped up to the task. We used these blocks to do break down stats, look at scores around the league, and show material from our other athletic teams here at NMU. These segments are unscripted and needed to be quickly produced in game.
